I'M LIDIA.

I am an elementary school STEAM and Junior/Intermediate teacher living in Ontario, Canada! I have been teaching for 12 years and I have a passion for inquiry-based learning, robotics, coding, AI exploration, and all things STEAM art-related. I am excited to document my teaching journey with you through

The ART of INQUIRY.

Even at a young age I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. When I came home from my first day of kindergarten, my mom asked me how my day was, and I said, "I want to be a teacher when I grow up!" From that day forward, I was on the path to becoming a teacher!

As an educator, I am always looking to learn, share, and collaborate. Education is constantly evolving, and I believe that providing students with new learning experiences, tools, and opportunities is at the heart of meaningful learning.

My teaching philosophy centres on inquiry and the belief that every learner brings unique knowledge, experiences, and identities into the classroom. Student voice is at the heart of all learning. I see the classroom as a vibrant community of co-learners, students, and educators exploring, questioning, and building understanding together, rather than a place where the teacher holds all the knowledge.

I am deeply committed to designing authentic, joyful, and culturally responsive learning experiences where students have true AGENCY and OWNERSHIP. Through identity exploration, hands-on investigation, and real-world problem-solving, I encourage students to discover what matters to them and use those passions to shape their learning. Whether they are engaging with a STEAM provocation, building in robotics, coding interactive projects, or exploring AI as a creative and analytical tool, students learn how to ask powerful questions, test ideas, and reflect on their process.

My practice is grounded in relationship-building, design thinking, and a belief that learning should be meaningful, connected to the world, and driven by curiosity. In our INQUIRY CLASSROOM, students are creators, thinkers, and problem-solvers. They take action on issues they care about, develop confidence in their identities, and learn to navigate an ever-changing technological world with creativity, responsibility, and wonder.

Curiosity guides us. Collaboration shapes us. And students lead the way.

Part of the reason I pursued the role I have today is that I’m passionate about supporting fellow educators in becoming confident, curious, and empowered inquiry teachers. I love helping teachers see the possibilities within their practice and building the skills, mindsets, and structures that make inquiry feel authentic, sustainable, and joyful.

As part of my own learning journey, and to support yours, I’ve developed a series of one-on-one inquiry courses and coaching opportunities designed to guide you through your personal inquiry journey. These programs are built to meet you where you are, spark new ideas, and help you bring inquiry to life in your classroom.
